For more than 15 years, Eye Networks has delivered and supported customer-premises equipment (CPEs) and other Zyxel technology to Norwegian broadband providers as a Norwegian partner and reseller of ISP solutions. The latest technology added is fixed wireless access (FWA).
- When the world is hit by a pandemic and becomes unrecognizable, it is a major advantage to have a close partnership and routines and procedures consolidated over time. Zyxel and Eye Networks are in that exact position, which gives us the perfect starting point for the tasks we need to solve going forward, says Linda Firveld, Eye Networks COO.
Firveld says that the market for fixed wireless is now beginning to move - for real.
- We are ramping up our targeted effort accordingly. The Zyxeel NR7101 outdoor router that has been available from us since last summer, is the same one used by Telenor and Telia. It is a market leading product that has proven that it stands up to both demanding Norwegian customers and a rough Nordic climate, says Firveld.
Eye Networks also delivers mesh technology from Zyxel.
- The solution is called MPro Mesh and supports the EasyMesh standard. This gives users Wi-Fi coverage in every nook and cranny of their home. Of course we also weave our own analytics tool EyeSaaS into this, so that broadband providers get an overview of how their services are performing on customer premises, says Firveld.
Eye Networks also has large parts of Zyxel's Wi-Fi 6 portfolio in their catalog, both with and without mesh, and Firveld adds:
Our tests show that Zyxel's Wi-Fi 6 gateway delivers a performance and coverage that are at least 30% up from Wi-Fi 5. Many of our customers have already started providing Wi-Fi 6 to consumers. We can all look forward to seeing where this goes -- everything is better with Wi-Fi 6!
