Eye Networks and Zyxel have had a close collaboration for many years. Now they are joining forces within Fixed Wireless Access and wifi mesh.
For more than 15 years, Eye Networks has supplied and supported CPE and other Zyxel technology to Norwegian broadband providers as a Norwegian partner and reseller of ISP solutions. The latest technology is fixed wireless broadband or fixed wireless access (FWA).
– When the world is hit by a pandemic and becomes unrecognizable, it is a great advantage to have a close partner and routines that have been incorporated over a long period of time. Zyxel and Eye Networks are precisely in that position, which gives us a perfect starting point for the tasks we will solve going forward, says COO Linda Firveld in Eye Networks.
Router That Can Take A Beating
Firveld notes that the market for fixed wireless broadband has started to really stir.
– We will sharpen our efforts accordingly. The outdoor router NR7101 from Zyxel, which we have delivered since last summer, is the same that Telenor and Telia use. This is a market-leading product that has proven that it is suitable both for demanding Norwegian customers and the harsh Nordic climate, says Firveld.
EasyMesh and Wi-Fi 6
Eye Networks also supplies mesh networks or mesh from Zyxel.
– The product is called MPro Mesh and supports the EasyMesh standard. This gives the home user wifi coverage in every nook and cranny. In addition, of course, we weave our own analytics tool, EyeSaaS, into everything, so that the broadband providers get an overview of how their services are performing with customers, says Firveld.
Eye Networks also sells large parts of Zyxel’s Wi-Fi 6 portfolio both with and without mesh, and Firveld adds:
– Our tests show that Zyxel’s Wi-Fi 6 gateway delivers performance and coverage that is at least 30 percent better than Wi-Fi 5. A number of our customers are in the process of rolling out Wi-Fi 6 to their home customers. Look forward to what comes next – everything will be better with Wi-Fi 6!
